New Doctor Revealed!!

Matt Smith has been revealed to be taking the part of the eleventh Doctor!!

I didn't think I would be saying this, but I actually quite like him.
I'm glad they didn't go for an old guy, they found that balance that they had with David Tennant of him being young but looks old at the same time.
Obviously, due to my irrational love of David Tennant I won't ever be fully satisfied. :P

Ohhh I miss David Tennant already. :(
Also, I think the assistant is likely to be a young'un too... Maybe Jenny will come back? At least her being his daughter will stop the cliche'd fanfic. :P
All there is to do now is wait.
Blehhh.

Merry Christmas/Thursday

If you particularly celebrate thursdays.

So, Christmas Day. It seems to get less magical every year. (Sorry for my negativity).

I think it's down to a combination of things. I'm getting older? We used to celebrate Christmas as part of a large family, and now there's just me, my parents, and my Grandad? My atheism? Comercialisation? (I suppose with atheism, christmas just becomes a comercialisation).

Yeah, I'm not big with Christmas. I think I would be if I celebrated it with more lively people. (That sounds horrible- but eating dinner in near silence and The Queen's speech just doesn't do anything for me, I'm afraid).

However, I shan't complain any more, I got one hundred and sixty pounds from my parents and various other relatives. I think I will put it with my 40 pounds left over from work, however much my EMA has finally decided to give me, and whatever I can get for trading in an old PS2/games and buy a Nintendo Wii.

I love Nintendo Wiis, I can't wait to get one.

Also the new episode of Doctor Who was aired today finally, I think that deserves its own blog entry, so that next. (I am a tremendously big fan of Doctor Who).

I got my Mum 'The Tudors' on box set. Although I think I will be watching it just as much as her, Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a fine young fellow, isn't he? ;)

Anyway, I hope you all had a really, really good Christmas. (You deserve one if you read through my complaints).

In my lifetime...

So, I've seen people doing this on Youtube.

I love Vloggers, I intend on starting one eventually... It just seemed a bit pointless to do one for this.

Anyway, the idea is you 10 things you would like to see in your life.

(I first saw this idea on 'LittleRadge's channel, but the idea came from 'JerryHCook's channel- look them up, they're both entertaining people. ^_^

In my Lifetime...

I want to get into a a good university in 20 months time. (Edinburgh I was thinking).

I want to travel, and see all the things this world has to offer.

I want to pass my driving test first time.

I want to get into shape, and not chicken out when I go to get my teeth straightenned.
(I have a total phobia of dentists).

I want to write a book and have it published.

I want to meet various celebrities who have influenced me, and not meet them as a desperate looking fan.

I want to have a succesful journalism or media career.

I want to live in London.

I want to meet a guy who I just click with, and who feels the same about me.

I want to learn to play the piano well.

I'm back!

Yes I am. I don't quite know what brought me back to lj... My laptops fixed? I have insomnia?
Anyway yes, what's new?

I started college at Nottingham, which is great... I was doing Eng Lit, Eng Lang, Drama and Film Studies, then Film changed to law (the woman made me) then drama changed to history (that was a bit of a rubbish drama class tbh, most people never bothered turning up).
Now I wish I wasn't doing law, because I really am starting to detest the subject... I hate the way it lumps everything into catagories.
I also wish I'd done more sciencey stuff as well. (Don't get me wrong, I love English, especially lit). But I was always changing my mind between english and science, and I wished I hadn't ruled science out. Oh well, it;s not totally ruled out, maybe I'll do a foundation course?

Anyway errrmm, I'll probably post a blog with more of a point later.

Sweeney Todd

How good is that movie? Saw it yesterday.
Pretty graphic of the slitting of the throats though. I can handle the gore, but the people around me got rather horrified.
Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter were perfect for the roles. And Snape Alan Rickman, I hated the character, so he must of done it right.
And I love all Tim Burton movies.
My Dad told me about Sweeney Todd when I was little, of course at that age being the wierd child I was just thought 'Oh, how enterprising.' And went to play with Lego. But I love this movie, it's my desktop wallpaper.
But the music I've been absent mindedly singing an awful lot, so not all is good in my house.

Oh god, my computer's broken.

That's how it goes. And I keep typo'ing because I'm not used to this clanky old keyboard. (I'm on my Dad's)
Anyway, new stuff.
I went to Nottingham to audition for the National Youth Theatre.
It was fun and that, but it sort of put me off wanting to act for a living.
I don't know, everyone just seemed so fake and identical, I always thought of actors as being unique, however, this is how everyone was.

Young Actresses:
All wear green and brown vintage baggy clothes with long hair.
All have silk bags and purses with beads on them.
All speak in over exagerated posh accents
Are very patronising
All have names like Prudence, Elizabeth and Lucinda

Young Actors:
All have fabulous hair, usually blonde
Are all very skinny
All wear fabulous clothes, often waistcoats
All eat carrot sticks out of little plastic containers for dinner
Are very arrogant
All have names like George and Laurence

Haha, okay, that's a pretty specific stereotype. Probably unfair, but the people I just described made up the entire population of the room.
And their I was, black hair, hoody, trainers, accent which an Amercan friend once mimiced to sound alarmingly like the artful dodger.

Although, it was a good day, and I'm glad I did it, because otherwise I wouldn't have any false pretenses.

"How did you spend Valentines day?"

Well, me and my last boyfriend broke up about a month ago.
But who needs that?
I had a whole little circle of friends to go out with!
It was unexpected really, I only actually knew one of them, and I just sort of ended up having a great time with a few brilliant people, laughing at childish things and going on unstable looking rides in the center of Lincoln.
You know the kind of rides I'm talking about, the massive portable ones that don't look at all safe. That shake while they move. Those.
It's amazing how people you have never really bothered to speak to before turn out to actually be really fun.
We did a lot of hanging around indoor places (it was cold) and laughing at things, mostly in Starbucks.
Anyway, happy next Valentines day to myself, as this one has passed me by.

An intreguing quote from me:

"Are they speaking French, or do they just have Irish accents?"

I don't actually know how I got those two confused.

Mosquito Alarm

First off, that stupid mosquito thing. That alarm that keeps under 25s away. Basically, how it works is it plays a really high pitched beeping noise that gives you a headache and makes you feel sick, but it's too high for anyone over 25. And I know it works, because they played it on the news and I put my hands over my ears and went 'ow', whilst my parents looked at me as if I'd gone insane.
The first thing that sprang to mind was that it was very similar to the whistle used to keep sheep dogs in order. I don't know about you, but as a member of the human race I like to consider myself slightly more dignified than a border collie.
Sure, it keeps gangs of chavs away, but they aren't the only ones in the country under twenty five. Surely when you reach the age to vote, get married and have children of your own... I dunno... become prime minister, you achieve a place in society which does not involve not being able to walk into a shop.
That's a point, what if you live next to somewhere with an alarm? You just have to put up with it?
And babies. They'll be effected, and woe betide any parent over 25 who tries to find out what's wrong with them.
Anyway, wait till the MP's realise their kids are affected too.

Also, Dwain Chambers, He did his two year ban. It wasn't a life time ban. You don't put someone in prison for two years, then decide 'no actually, we won't let you out.'.

To end on a happy note, have a look at these labradoodles. I want one.

The third most popular petition on the government website.

Would you believe, that the third most popular petition on the government website is 'We, the undersigned, petition to make Jeremy Clarkson Prime Minister'?
Well I don't know about you, but I signed it.
Seriously, haha, take a look.
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/
All serious issues and then that.
But yes, if you look, you will see 'Jade Bailey' on there. (Me).
Also on there is Jeremy Clarkson and Richard Hammond.
At least we'd have some colourful new laws on transport.

London protests on the CoS

Has anyone else heard about this? I saw it on youtube, and am surprised it's not received media coverage.
There are several ways in which I don't agree with Scientology, primarily that anyone should have to pay to be part of a religion. Also the silencing campaign on anyone who speaks out against them.
I won't continue to give you my opinion, I'm sure you're capable of summoning your own, and I support freedom of speech. Which is my point. It is what Scientology does not allow.
As for all the celebrity names they have on their members list, no surprises. Only someone with ten Porshes and a Ferarri parked on their drive could afford to be a Scientologist and keep smiling.
Anyway, this is the website I read about this on, if you're interested in checking it out.

Well wahay, how goods that?

I got into college, Nottingham college to be precise.
I don't know why I'm relieved, I had the grades and a good reference anyway.
Huh.
Anyway. I'm doing English Lit, English Lang, Film Studies and Drama. I have to go back and do an audition for drama though, but otherwise I'm in. This is for A-Levels by the way, its at the sixth form college 'High Pavement' which is part of 'New College Nottingham'.
I'm looking forward to it being in a pretty large city, because I've always been to rural schools.
I once read somewhere that aparently rural schools were better for development and grades, although personally I don't see what all the fuss is about. I think cities offer better opportunities and have a more diverse range of people.

Other news in my life is that I have developed an irrational love of Top Gear. Incase you were wondering.
